Point of Return (2012) – An Artistic Discourse on the Question of the African-Canadian Diaspora and Identity-The Point of Return (POR) is a multi-disciplinary touring exhibition. We aim to explore questions surrounding African-Canadian Diaspora and identity from a historical and contemporary perspective by examining the contextual ‘point of return.’ This objective will be achieved by bringing together the creative energies of artists of African heritage from different geographic locations. Their work will build upon a rich legacy of cultural wealth by creating artistic and written concepts through the sharing of knowledge, ideas, feelings and experiences. The POR project will include a symposium, awards event, and educational programming.
